I liked the convenience of having everything close to us. I loved that we had a full kitchen and private bedroom. The only thing I found was the room was a little dated with the browns, oranges, and reds. Very 70's.

Good location, mixed review

Pros: Room was comfortable and kitchen was big and nice. Breakfast was good. The hotel location was excellent for tourists like ourselves wishing to experie
Cons: The parking garage sucks, constantly swapping elevators on the first floor, and lobby on the 4th floor, will drive you crazy. There is no restaurant
Location: Very walkable to museums, government buildings, Rideau Canal locks, monuments, river, parks, shopping, nightlife.
Room was comfortable and kitchen was big and nice. Breakfast was good. The hotel location was excellent for tourists like ourselves wishing to experience Ottowa. Staff was nice. The parking garage sucks, constantly swapping elevators on the first floor, and lobby on the 4th floor, will drive you crazy. There is no restaurant on this property, and our room wasn't very clean.

Thank you very much for your feedback, and I am sorry to hear that the parking situation did not meet your needs. Regrettably there is little that can be done to improve this area, and we understand the inconvenience this may cause. We hope you might give us another chance in the future, and were pleased to hear that there were many positives as well!

Wrong hotel

Pros: Room was clean, staff was friendly and helpful
Cons: Separate dining hall from the front desk - too noisy
I began my search on Travelocity with the name of the hotel that I wanted to stay at, "The courtyard Marriott"in Ottawa, secured my date and room and proceeded with payment via PayPal. I arrived at the hotel in -25 weather to find out that they did not have my reservation and that the hotel was fully booked (not that I could stay there anyway as I had already paid and apparently not for the hotel I wanted). I went back to my cell phone and read the confirmation fully, and somehow, I was booked at the Residence Inn Marriott, quite a walk away from where I wanted to stay (about 5 km) and like I said -25 at least outside. This was to be a quiet evening away from our 7 children to celebrate a special anniversary. So, I try not to be too disappointed and proceed to the Residence Inn. A weird setup, the front desk is located on the 4th floor, so up we go. As soon as we get to the 4th floor we hear the roar of a crowd of parents and children there for a hockey tournament. Still not trying to be discouraged, I sigh, we check in by very kind staff and proceed to our room on the 9th floor. The room is right at the elevators, this is where it was hard to keep positive as I can already imagine the early morning awakening of guests outside our door conversing as they wait for the elevator in the morning to go to hockey games etc. The light from the hallway and elevator held a steady glow in the room as well...grrr. But at least it was clean. Use caution with Travelocity.

Great hotel, near city center Ottawa

Cons: The parking entry and exit is a bit tight, so if you're driving a large SUV like a Suburban or something like that, watch out!
This is a good hotel to stay at, it's very near the city center and lots of things to see around. Underground safe parking also a plus. The staff are nice and there is a restaurant in the building if you want to just eat in or not feeling like exploring. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
