Overall the my experience at this hotel was fairly average. I only stayed for one night but it was enough to see that the hotel is looking tired, both in the main areas and in the guest rooms. The bath in my room was so worn it had become stained. It is not what one expects from a hotel of this standard.

As always, the staff were consistently pleasant and responsive and the location, bar/restaurant and public areas were lovely. The harbour view alone is worth the price of admission. Coal Harbour is a lovely part of the city and Stanley Park has it all. The only negatives were that the rooms are starting to show their age - particularly the bathroom, which was small and had a marble counter that really should be replaced. And the lobby is often very crowded with cruise ship guests, which may not be to everyone's taste. A 4+, and a fine value/price proposition. We have stayed many times and will likely do so again.

The view from our room was great. The staff we encountered were nice (only talked with check in). Check in was really slow. It took 25 minutes of waiting in line to finally checking. Only 2 people working at the time when cruise passengers and a big running/hiking event happening. The one bad thing about this hotel is they nickel and dime you for everything. I can’t see myself staying there again for the price we paid.

I cannot say enough about the concierge, Monica, who made our anniversary visit wonderful. From amazing restaurant recommendations, to chocolate covered strawberries in our room to calling ahead to the restuarant to alert them to our special day. She did it all with patience, grace and professionalism. We will definitely visit again and that's in large part due to her and the amazing staff. Well done!
