In the movie The Grand Hotel Budapest, we are shown a hotel that is well past its prime, with its glory days behind it. My feeling of the Hotel Chateauneuf was very similar. It has "good bones", but lacks investment and good management. There was a gum on the wall. There was mold on the bottom of the small conditioner bottle. The staff refused to move us to a room with a different view, stating the hotel was full (it was almost empty.) The amenities were either closed, under repair or just stuffy. The restaurant charged a $20 for small continental breakfast, and the bar was closed pretty early at night. This is either a "has-been" marked for eventual demolition, or just mismanagement, or a bad economic time.

The room was cery clean. The bar was empty. The air conditioning didn't work & i was not informed! There was a charge for underground parking & i was not informed, nor was this shown on my email! The coffee pitcher in the lobby was empty & i was infirmed that tgere was coffee in the room! There was only one person at the check-in desk; two people would have made the process more efficient
